Dragon Cement Factory
Dragon Cement commenced operations in early 2004 to fulfil an increasing demand for building materials in the country. Construction was completed in 2010 with its first operations using a wet process. Currently, the factory produces 800 tons of cement per day under two production lines.
The plant is located in Tigyit in the Pin Laung Township of Southern Shan State, which has a total plant area of 446 acres. The plant is also located strategically near all the required raw materials such as limestone and coal. This ensures that Dragon Cement has a continuous supply of raw materials and thus a competitive advantage in the market.
The company is now planning for expansion to include the dry-process method, which will also boost efficiency and production levels. Currently, Dragon Cement holds 70% of the market share in Southern Shan State and 85-90% market share in Kayah State, making it the leading cement brand in the region.
