Ruby Dragon Jade & Gems
Our ruby and jade finishing factory is located in Nay Pyi Taw, the current capital of Myanmar. The factory was established in 2000 with local expertise bolstered by the team’s visit to China to boost its product knowledge. As such, the factory’s operations were overhauled and relaunched in 2007.
At the factory, rubies from both Mong Hsu and Mogok are categorized and sent to different cutting stations following heat treatment if required. Quality is of outmost importance to Ruby Dragon and, aside from heat treatment, Mong Hsu rubies do not undergo any other treatment.
Professional gemstone cutters from Thailand then determine the shapes to cut depending on the color, clarity, and luster of the rubies. Faceted rubies are divided into mixed-cut, diamond-cut and emerald-cut, while cabochons will either be round or oval-shaped.
Jadeites of all shapes and sizes from Phakant are also processed in this factory. Imperial Jade, Icy Jade, Lavender Jade, and Black and Amber Jade are some of the Jadeite Jades that are processed here. The cutting of jade is carefully thought through to capture both natural beauty and commercial value. The various types of cutting are cabochon (round, oval and drop), carvings, beads, and sculptures, with the finishing process depending on the quality and type of jade.
